Founder Bio


McArthur Davis is the Founder / President of the Nonprofit Development Institute Inc. McArthur brings over fifteen years of professional non-profit experience to the Non-Profit Development Institute Inc, also known as NPDI Inc based in North Carolina. McArthur served as Executive Director of the Sit-In Movement Inc/International Civil Right Center and Museum from 1996-2004. McArthur was instrumental and responsible for the daily operations of the project and wrote grants that raised over $10 million for the museumís capital campaign. McArthur was also responsible for developing and implementing the infrastructure of the organization. McArthur then moved fourth to serve as President of the Black United Fund of North Carolina, for five years, he also provided the infrastructure & technical assistance to the community and faith-based organizations and groups in North Carolina. McArthur is an instructor for Duke University Non Profit Management Program and for Winston-Salem State University Center for Community Safety Program, and also has been a guest speaker for High Point University Non Profit Management Program and the North Carolina Center of Non Profit. McArthur has also served / serves on the boards of the Community Alliance Project, Triad Girls Scouts Council, Guilford County Committee Action Project, Downtown Greensboro, Inc, Greensboro Board of Adjustors, Hayes Taylor YMCA, North Carolina Community Shares and the Vice Chairman of the Board of the Greensboro Coliseum complex. McArthur has/is currently on the Board of Commissions for the recently opened ACC Hall of Champions located in Greensboro, NC, and was also instrumental in the development and finalization review of the grant for the facility.  

McArthur has expertise in grant writing, board development, organizational structure, developing sustainability strategy for nonprofits, and understanding regulation required by federal, state & local governments in regards to nonprofits.
